Variación nictemeral en la conposición y abundancia de la ictiofauna en un extracto del rio urucu – coari/amazonas/Brasil

Resumen

A variação diária na estrutura de assembléias de peixes é bem documentada para ambientes temperados (LAYMAN, 2000; NAGELKERKEN et al., 2000; LÖK et al., 2002;). Mudanças na intensidade luminosa do ambiente nos períodos crepusculares promovem modificações na estrutura das assembléias (OKUN et al., 2005), sendo as alterações de abundância e riqueza de espécies atribuídas a mudanças diárias no uso de habitat, associada à atividade de forrageio, (PIET E GURUGE, 1997) e proteção contra predadores (GIBSON et al., 1998). O ciclo circadiano apresenta grande importância na atividade de peixes, onde a movimentação destes promove mudanças na composição das assembléias em resposta ao aumento da pressão de predação.
