It is an official journal of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Sucre, Colombia and is defined as a scientific publication biannual peer-reviewed published by the Faculty of Health Sciences and approved by Resolution No. 026 of 2012.

Its mission is to disseminate the intellectual output of original and unpublished articles, short notes of current issues, case studies, opinion articles, literature reviews, prepared by researchers in the field of medicine, nursing, speech, chemistry and pharmacy, means environment, public health and related areas at the local, regional, national and international.
